2023 Annual Report: Rights Violations Against Christians in Iran (Article 18)

The UK religious freedom organisation, Article18, has released its 2023 joint annual report on “Rights Violations against Christians in Iran”, with partner organisations from the Religious Liberty Partnership (RLP): CSW,UK; Middle East Concern; and Open Doors International. Article 18 joined the RLP in 2022 as a new full member.

The report shows that religious minorities in Iran including Christians – both the “recognised” Christians of Armenian and Assyrian descent, and unrecognised converts – are systematically deprived of their right to freely practise a faith of their choosing, in violation of Iran’s obligations as a signatory of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
