RLP Holds Roundtable on Nigeria

The Religious Liberty Partnership (RLP) held a virtual Roundtable on Nigeria, September 16, 2020. Focused on recommending joint action regarding the violence taking place in Nigeria, ninety key leaders from 20+ countries participated in the event.

Moderated by RLP Chairman Mervyn Thomas, presenters for this third RLP Roundtable included Lord David Alton, Member of the British House of Lords; Former US Congressman Frank Wolf; Rev. Yunusa Nmadu of CSW Nigeria; Kyle Abts, of the International Committee on Nigeria; Illia Djadi of Open Doors International; Khataza Gondwe of CSW UK; and Elewina Ochab, noted author and human rights advocate.

“The reason why this Roundtable worked so well,” said Mervyn Thomas, CEO of CSW, UK and Chairman of the RLP, “was the emphasis given on the possible joint actions we can take regarding these challenges in Nigeria.” A copy of the follow up actions from the event and a recording of the Roundtable on Nigeria is available to all RLP members. In addition, you can see further recommendations in the APPG FoRB Nigeria report.

The RLP will continue to convene the community around these type of important issues with follow up Roundtables on other key countries being scheduled over the next few months.
